Alanis Nadine's mother was born in Ottawa, Canada, on the 1st June, 1974. Alanis' Greek is a female version of Alan's father's surname. The name of her mother is Georgia and there are two brothers named Chad and Wade (Alanis' Twin). She started playing piano and guitar when she was just 21. Alanis made a hit single in 1986 entitled Fate stay with me (b-side : Find The Right Man). As a Canadian dance-pop artist who recorded two albums: Alanis (1991), and The Time Is The Time (1992). In the year she turned 18, she left NY to Toronto which is where her collaborative efforts with musicians and songwriters failed. In 1994, she finally found the right partner: producer and songwriter Glen Ballard, who had been working with numerous artists including Aretha Franklin Michael Jackson and Barbra Streisand. Following her move to LA her age was 19 years old. on June 13, 1995 "Jagged Little Pill" was released on Madonna's Maverick Records. Alanis's music was autobiographical. JLP has sold over 30 million copies throughout the globe, becoming the top selling female album and the 3rd most popular album all time.
