Marcia Gay Harden

Marcia Gay Harden was born on August 14 of 1959 in La Jolla, California, the third of five children. Her mother, Beverly (Bushfield), was a homemaker, and her father, Thad Harold Harden in the military. Family members moved frequentlyher first interest in acting when her family moved to Greece, and she had been to plays in Athens. Harden began her university education in American universities in Europe and returned to the US to pursue her study at the University of Texas in 1983 after which she earned an MFA from NYU followed by a stint at NYU where she was able to begin her acting career. Harden had already appeared in one film in 1986 with The Imagemaker, but her first major role was in Miller's Crossing, the Coen Brothers funny, humorous tribute to gangster films. Harden was widely praised by critics for her stunning performance as Verna. Harden thereafter worked steadily in supporting roles, including the portrayal of Ava Gardner in Sinatra (1992) which was a biopic on television that focused on Frank Sinatra. Marcia Marcia Marcia
